Considering the current gun related crimes in our country more particularly the recent events in the Western Cape namely the community shut down campaigns and Gauteng Province namely Westbury. There is an urgent need from government to address and solve the current gun related crimes and dealing effectively with the 3rd economic, organised crime running our country into the ground and making our communities to rise, out of frustration. To empower the government with long term solutions to gun related crimes.
Our company designed and patented the concept of Coded Ammunition.
It is clear that the City of Cape Town and their Shotspotter Technology which cost the Tax payer millions of Rands in revenue, is not effective in solving and/or reducing gun related crimes. The number 1 weapon used in South Africa is a firearm at 41,3% as per South African Police crime stats 2017/2018.
Due to failure of adequate gun control measures, there are thousands of illegal firearms circulating in South Africa that needs to be fuelled by ammunition.
Without ammunition these firearms are useless. By implementing the Codification of Ammunition and the registration for coded ammunition it will put a stop to fuelling unlicensed firearms and dealing effectively with the 3rd economic namely gangsterism, organised crime, vigilante groups, animal poaching and empowering loyal and law abiding citizens that can stand up and say no by being pressurized to sell legal ammunition to the criminals of this country and also eliminating free access to ammunition facilities without accountability and transparency to follow up on all sales of ammunition. In this regard government needs to amend the current Firearms Control Act, of 2000 (“the act”) to enable incorporating coded ammunition into the “act”. The effective consequence of amending the “act” is that each legal firearm owner will be held accountable for his/her ammunition.
